Regional Operations Coordinator - Wellington

Koha Apparel is a not-for-profit, pay-as-you-can retail experience, using donated apparel. Our mission is to repurpose quality clothing donations for those vulnerable in our community. Our pop-up stores utilise a pay-as-you-can [Koha] system which allows those struggling financially to access clean clothing for free. Secondary to this, we aim to reduce the amount of clothing waste going to landfill.

About you:

  • Passionate about the community and supporting those who are vulnerable.

  • Confident in conversing with various backgrounds and ethnicities and have strong relationship building skills with people from all walks of life.

  • Ideally, you will have existing relationships with local community organisations in a similar field.

  • A good manner and interpersonal skills.

  • Understand the effects of fast fashion and do your best to be a conscious buyer.

  • Have a clear understanding of the issues within homelessness and poverty throughout Aotearoa.

  • A full driving licence.

    Key tasks and activities:

  • Manage monthly pop-ups with community groups and volunteers.

  • Ensure all donated stock is clean, sorted and readily available for next pop-ups.

  • Coordinate with volunteers to ensure repairs and repurposing product is completed.

  • Actively search and engage with other community groups and organisations to collaborate with.

This will be a paid position, $22 per/hour, 8 hours of work a week maximum.

If you’d like to make a difference and help the vulnerable Wellington community, please get in touch with us koha.apparel@gmail.com. Applications close Sunday 31st January 2021.
