We're hiring a part-time Operations Manager
Koha Apparel's mission is to uplift those marginalised in our communities, providing clean, quality clothing to those in need while addressing textile waste. Our aim is to promote dignity and social inclusion, enabling opportunities to secure housing and employment while improving quality of life.
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative Operations Manager to join our micro team in Tāmaki Makaurau. In this role, you will oversee our community pop-ups, distributing approximately 1000 items of clothing and shoes to those in need. This role is a 3-month fixed term contract with the potential for extension.

About your responsibilities:
Pop ups:
- Coordinate community pop ups.
- Coordinate stock and volunteers for pop ups.
- Manage monthly pop up and Saturdays schedule.
Community engagement:
- Strong cultural competence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of poverty and inequality issues impacting our people across Aotearoa.
- Advanced facilitation skills across diverse community groups.
- Working knowledge of community engagement methods.
Volunteer management:
- Coordinate volunteer schedule for community pop ups.
- Coordinate with volunteers to ensure repairs and repurposing is at the core of what we do.
- Coordinate washing with volunteers.
Stock management:
- Sort donated stock.
- Ensure all donated stock is clean or set aside for any necessary repairs.
- Organise and rotate stock storage.
- Ensure stock is organised and readily available for all pop ups.
Growth, development, and partnerships:
- Actively search for other community groups and organisations to collaborate with throughout Aotearoa.
- Manage existing community partner relationships.
- Manager existing corporate partner relationships.
Requirements:
Essential skills and experience:
- Confident in conversing with various backgrounds and ethnicities. Strong relationship skills, ability to converse with people from all walks of life.
- Fit and well enough to do some heavy lifting.
- A good manner and interpersonal skills.
- A full drivers licence.
- Ideally, you will have existing relationships with local community organisations in a similar field.
Essential personal attributes:
- Passionate about the community and supporting those who are vulnerable.
- Understand the effects of fast fashion and do your best to be a conscious buyer.
- Have a clear understanding of the issues within homelessness and poverty throughout Aotearoa.
- Available evenings and to work one Saturday a month.
