Our People: Gabe Wright. he/him

Thanks again for supporting Koha Apparel and quite literally putting your body on the line. While you're not pulling a blue-steel look for Koha Apparel, what might we find you doing? There's a few things you'd find me doing! These include doing the mahi in our support office at RainbowYOUTH, shouting the 'Hamilton' soundtrack with my pals, chasing acting gigs, or watching Love Island or Drag Race despite the fact that I should have developed a more acquired taste by now.

What made you want to volunteer your time with Koha Apparel? I 100% back Koha's mission. Everybody deserves access to quality clothing that will serve them functionally and affirm them. I've also seen the breadth of work that Koha does - from picking up wasted food from local eateries to feed the community, to helping us improve the quality of our community wardrobe at RainbowYOUTH. Huge respect!

What were some of your favourite pieces from our 'new season'? Favourite pieces were definitely that bold red jacket and the Harley Davidson tee!

What would you say to encourage others to shop more sustainability? I'd always just encourage people to shop for second-hand items or shop locally if you can! It's a win-win cos you're likely to find more unique items and you're shopping sustainably. Plus, it seems like heaps of big stores are trying to replicate that "vintage" look at the moment so you may as well just shop for the actual vintage!

What are some of your favourite places to shop? My favourite places to shop are Checks, Crushes and Savemart (Onehunga).
